Director

Responsibilities:

  • Strategically advise, manage, and execute media and larger communication campaigns for clients 

  • Collaboratively manage, support and mentor, junior team members with principal often split by client or project rather than by staffers given we are a small collaborative team

  • Work with principal to identify and secure new business opportunities for the firm

  • Proactively identify opportunities for increasing client media visibility

  • Deliver in-depth media prep and training for client interviews with major publications and outlets 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with reporters across local and national outlets 

  • Develop, edit, and pitch media advisories, press releases, op-eds, and personalized pitches 

  • Work directly with and serve as right-hand support to firm principal
     

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of communications experience in a firm/agency setting, or related positions on campaigns, Capitol Hill, organizations, or news agencies

  • Experience managing and mentoring teams of 2+ junior to mid-level professionals   

  • Strong writing and grammar skills are a must

  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills – a natural listener and communicator

  • Candidates should have a passion for communications, politics, and the 24-hour news cycle 

  • And a passion for working in a collaborative, fast-paced, results-oriented environment

This full-time position has a salary range between $80,000 to $120,000, with exact salary commensurate with experience.


Associate
 

Responsibilities:

  • Have a unique opportunity to work directly with the firm principal and senior team members of the firm.

  • Work on assignments with real substance for a wide variety of different clients, ranging from labor unions, to voting rights organizations, progressive political organizations and more

  • Contribute directly to getting results for clients by; developing media press lists, drafting media pitches and pitching stories to the press, drafting op-eds, drafting memos, conducting research, and more

  • Develop relationships with national and local reporters and producers from across a wide variety of mediums including, print, digital, television, streaming, radio, and podcasts

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-years of communication experience in a firm/agency setting, or related positions on campaigns, Capitol Hill, organizations, or news agencies

  • Strong writing and grammar skills are a must

  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills – a natural listener and communicator

  • Have a passion for communications, politics, and the 24-hour news cycle

  • And a passion for working in a collaborative, fast-paced, results-oriented environment

Salary negotiable based on experience, with a minimum salary of $50,000.
